Yumiko's Permanent Makeup Studio L.L.C.

Customize your semi-permanent makeup

Please read through this page before setting appointment to ensure that you are an ideal candidate for permanent make up.

If you have had previous permanent make up done by another artist, we are unable to retouch that work. The only exception would be if your previous tattoo is almost completely faded and not visible of the shape. Please send us your previous tattoo pictures.

Please do not bring small children to your appointment.

----- General Rule for all procedures -----

  • You must not be pregnant or nursing.
  • If you are undergoing chemotherapy ( consult your doctor ).
  • You must be off Accutane for at least one year.
  • No chemical peels 4 weeks prior and must wait 4 weeks after. ( If you do frequent peels, the brows will fade quicker due to the chemicals traveling under the skin )
  • You can not have a TAN on your face at time of appointment or you will be rescheduled. Pigments will heal darker in TAN skin. TAN skin bleeds therefore pigment will not take and will look blurred. Also no TAN after your procedure.
  • Do not take any aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin,  Vitamin E, Fish oil, and / or any medication that will thin the blood 2-3 days before, unless medically necessary.
  • Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow prep instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications, Salmon ( omega-3 fatty acid ), high in Vitamin E ( spinach, broccoli, kiwi fruit, mango, pineapple, almonds, Evening Primorose oil, tomato,... ), Turmeric ( curry ), Ginger, Garlic, Cinnamon, Cayenne peppers, Kelp, Chamomile tea, Olive oil, ... for at least 24 to 48 hours before your appointment.
  • No alcohol 24 hours before.
  • No caffein / energy drink 5 hours before your appointment.
  • Delicate skin or sensitive areas may redden or swell slightly, some clients feel it best not to make any social plans for 2 days following any procedure.
  • If you get your eyebrow waxed or tinted, please have it done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure.
  • Retinols / Retin-A's, other anti-aging creams or serum containing acids Will fade your permanent make up prematurely even after it is healed. You must be off all Retinols / Retina-A 30 days prior to appointment. If not the area will bleed and pigment will not heal properly. And avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after.
  • You may be more sensitive when getting tattooed  during your menstrual cycle.
  • Come in with little or no makeup on day of procedure but NO Mascara please for eyeliner procedure.
  • Do not work out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores. *sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.
  • If you use Botox, it should be performed either 2 weeks prior to your scheduled procedure or 2 weeks after your procedure
  • Smoking will cause the pigment to fade prematurely and anesthetics will not last as long.
  • If you have any condition that requires you to take antibiotics prior to going to the dentist, it is a good idea to do the same prior to all tattoo work.

----- Post Care ------

  • Proper care following  your procedure is required to achieve optimum result.
  • Area may be swollen and tender for up to 72 hours. Cold  packs may be applied to minimize swelling.  ( Do not put cool packs directly on skin. Clean paper towel may be placed between skin and cold pack. )
  • Darkness, thickness, and unevenness of shape right after the procedure is normal due to swelling.
  • Avoid applying makeup on procedure area for 5 to 7 days ( healing time ).
  • Avoid hot tubs, chlorinated pool, sauna, saltwater, excessive sun, and no heavy exercise for 7 to 10 days.
  • No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt water or chlorine can cause the pigments to fade and change the color.
  • Avoid direct shower water on the treated area after the procedure.
  • Absolutely nothing on the treated area. No water, no makeup, no lotions....etc. for 5 to 7 days.
  • Tenderness, dryness and itching are normal during the healing process. Do not pick, peel or scratch the area or color will heal unevenly. Scratching may cause scarring.
  • Monitor area for any oozing. Press gently with tissue to remove. If body fluids remain, a thick scab will develop and will inhibit color pigment saturation.
  • A scab will form within 2 to 4 days. When scabbing begins, apply the lotion provided 2 to 3 x a day with clean cotton swab.
  • It is very common to have areas fade more so than others... this is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended touch up appointment. Previously done eyebrows may take 1 to 3 treatments to achieve the desired result.
  • Allow the inside of the skin to heal and color will slightly darken after 4 weeks.
